Relation between density and worklife Hardness is proportional to blasting speed but inverse proportional to worklife. Higher hardness, faster blasting speed, but shorter life with larger consumption. Proper hardness (approx. HRC40-50) will have the most economical efficiency. The proper hardness have good rebound resilience and will clean the corners fully and reduce the working period. Inner flaws such as air-cavity, fissure and porosity affect the worklife of abrasive and increase consumption. Density larger than 7.4g/cc has minimum inner defects.
