As a kind of special-purpose lifting equipment, shipbuilding gantry crane is used at dockyard or slipway of ship build yard. Shipbuilding gate cranes are sometimes called Goliath crane in English. Goliath is the name of the giant in Bible. Latter, it is referred to mobile giant crane. What is the characteristic is that it has a larger span, higher height. Generally, the span of shipbuilding gantry crane can reach more than 40 m and the max. span of the shipbuilding gantry crane can reach 200 m. The height under the main girder can reach 40-80 m. Because it has a large span, one side of the portal adopts rigid supporting leg and the other side adopts flexible supporting leg. in other words, the side which adopts rigid supporting leg joints with the main girder solidly. And, the other side which adopts flexible supporting legs joints with the main girder by flexible hinge. In accordance with the requirement of shipbuilding technology, the shipbuilding gantry crane has following functions, such as handling the materials with single hook, handling the materials with double hooks, handling the materials with three hooks, turning over the body section in the sky, small volume angle spinning and other multiple functions. Especially, it can satisfy the requirement of turning over and gathering up of body section. In order to complete the described function, generally, the shipbuilding gantry crane is carried with up and down two trolleys.
And, the up and down two trolleys will run in separate railway. On the up trolley, it mounts two lifting mechanism, which has the same lifting capacity. The suspension centre of the lifting mechanism locates on outside of the main girder separately. The two lifting mechanism can be operated for its separated purpose or the two lifting mechanism can be operated together to handle the materials, which can complete the spinning of the body section and the hoisting of the body section. Both hooks mounts transverse mechanism, which can complete the horizontal movement separately. Generally speaking, the distance of horizontal movement can reach 1.5 m or 2 m. Thus, it can realize the fine adjustment and fine spinning. It can be accurate when the body section is closed. The under trolley equips with main hook and auxiliary hook. The two hooks is set in the middle of position of the main girder. The main hook can individually lift the body of the ship. Also, it can complete the lifting operation with three hooks combining with the hook of the up trolley. Generally, the lifting capacity of auxiliary hook of the trolley is small, but the lifting speed of the auxiliary is quick. It can lift some small components. In according with the coordination action among the two hooks of the up and down trolley, the main hook of the down trolley and the traveling mechanism of the up and down trolley, it can realize the turning over of the body of the shipbuilding gantry crane in the air.

Main technical parameter
It has following advantages, such as, lifting the body of the ship with single hook, hoisting, turning over the body of the ship in the air, horizontal slight spinning in the air
The portal has two type, double girder and single girder, which can be chose by user. In order to make use of the materials reasonably, the main girder adopts variable cross-section optimal design.
The rigid supporting leg of the portal has two types, single column type and double column type, which can be chose by user.
The up trolley sets with double main hooks, which is set on both sides of the main girder, but it can realize individual horizontal movement or move the two hooks at the same time, 0~2m.
The down trolley sets two hooks, main hook and auxiliary hook, which is mounted under the centre of the girder.
The up and down trolley can realize mutual cross operation
All the lifting mechanisms and traveling mechanism adopt frequency control.
On the side of the rigid supporting legs and on the top surface of the main girder is mounted tumbler crane for maintaining, which aims to maintain the up and down trolley.
The elevator is mounted on the inner side of the rigid supporting leg, which aims to make it convenient to get on the shipbuilding gantry crane.
Packaging & Shipping
Delivery Packaging:
1. Electric parts and hoists are packed by high quality plywood crate to cut and avoid loss caused by shake and collision during sea transportation.
2. Girders are packed by strong plastic woven cloth to protect them from rusting in the harsh environment of high humidity.
Delivery:
1. All equipments are transported to ports by truck.
2. Equipments are transported to the destination port by container ship or bulk ship according to the size and your demand.
