1. Structure of FRP Liner Pipe Description
FRP liner pipe, the method repairing the old pipe without trenches is to put one smaller diameter FRP Mortar liner pipe into the old pipe and fixed to repair it.
This method has advantages as following: low requirement to old pip and certain corner is acceptable, low requirements to the clearance of inner surface; easy and fast construction、and construction with little water; The stiffness and strength of FRP Mortar liner pipe are very high, which can bear the load capacity of top of pipe independently, instead of collapse due to the old pipe’s structure; The inner surface is smooth, high conveying capacity, efficient and eco-friendly, corrosion resistance, long life service, low maintenance charge and construction cost.
2. Main Features of FRP Liner Pipe
1) Good corrosion resistance performance: strong corrosion resistance resin which have excellent mechanical and Processing Performance to bear the erosion of acids, alkalis, salts, raw seawater, corrosive soil, ground water and many chemical stuff.
2) Good performance in high and low temperature resistance: when temperature under 30°, FRP pipe still keeps good flexibility and high strength and can be used within temperature -50°-80°for long time, also can be used under temperature 110°with special formulated resin.
3) Abrasion resistant: The abrasion resistance performance of FRP mortar pipe is excellent. The test prove: put water loaded with amount of mud, sand, stone into the pipe and make the rotation abrasion effects comparison test. After 300 thousand times rotation, the abrasion degree is as following: steel pipe covered with tar and porcelain oil is 0.53mm; steel pipe with surface-hardening treatment is 0.48mm; FRP pipe is 0.21mm, which proves that FRP pipe’s outstanding abrasion resistance.
4) Temperature reservation: The performance of temperature reservation of FRP pipe is very good due to its low conductivity.
5) Ant-pollution after curing: no scaling, no rust and will not be attached by sea shellfish,
fungi, microorganism in polluted water when using.

1)Small specific gravity, light weight: FRP pipe’s specific gravity is 1.65-2.0 and one 1/4 compared with steel; hoop flexible tensile strength for FRP pipe is 150-420 MPa and axis tensile strength is 60-150MPa, similar to alloy steel. FRP pipe’s strength/specific gravity is 2 or 3 times compared with alloy steel so it can be designed according to customers different requirements for various pips bearing inside and outside pressure. For the same diameter pipe, FRP pipe’s weight is 1/2.5 compared with carbon steel pipe, 1/3.5 compared with cast iron pip, 1/8 compared with reinforced concrete pipe, so it’s easy for construction and transporting.
2) Fewer joints and efficient installment: Usual pipe’s length is 4-12 meters(other special length is also available according to customer demands). Single pipe is long with few joints to accelerate installment speed and reduce the fault possibility then improve efficiency of quality of construction of whole pipe.
