The kiln car is the equipment that carries the turn billet or tile billet for roasting operation in the tunnel kiln (or batch kiln), and it is also the most important auxiliary equipment of the tunnel kiln. The design and manufacture of the kiln car depends not only on the structure of the kiln itself and the selected materials, but also on the quality, output, heat consumption, pressure balance in the kiln and the life of the kiln car itself. Therefore, paying attention to the structural design and manufacturing of the kiln car plays an extremely important role in ensuring the normal operation of the kiln.

The kiln car is generally made into square or rectangle, and its specifications should be determined according to the structure of the kiln, the effective width, the position of the coal injection hole and the stacking method.

According to the different materials used, kiln cars can be divided into section steel kiln cars, cast iron kiln cars and concrete kiln cars. Cast iron kiln cars are often used in small broken simple marrow kilns. The cost is low, and the material is easy to dislodge and the structure is relatively simple. Strong corrosion resistance, non-standard bearings can be used for self-processing, but the cast iron kiln car has a large running resistance and is easily damaged due to collision during use. Section steel kiln cars are mostly used in large and medium-sized tunnel kilns. It is relatively expensive to manufacture, but has a light structure and adopts standard bearings, which is safe and reliable in operation and has a long service life. Concrete kiln cars are generally used in simple production occasions. It consumes less steel and costs less, but it is heavy, has a short life, and is easily damaged, so it has been basically eliminated.
