Black silicon carbide is produced at high temperature in an electric resistance type furnace with quarts sand and petroleum coke  or anthracite as its main raw materials. It is devided into different kinds based on the color, one is Black silicon carbon, another is green silicon carbide.

Application:

Used in steelmaking, foundry as Metallurgical deoxidizer. 

Used for refractory bricks production . 

As abrasive, abrasive tools can be used to such as grinding wheels, whetstones, grinding head, sand tile etc.
